42 COUNTRIES

The largest continent by land area and population, Asia is home to an astounding 4.55 billion people. It shares a continental land mass with Eurasia on its western border with Europe; and a continental land mass of Afro-Eurasia at its southwestern border with both Europe and Africa.

The solid mass of Europe, Asia and Africa may cause some confusion at trivia contests. Russia is the most visually challenging to place. However, since the Russian capital and 75 percent of its population resides in Europe, it is recognized as a European country (despite 75 percent of its land mass looming atop Asia). Proving yet again that politics and geography have no common boundaries.
